"In My Backyard"
Now Showing in the Hayloft Gallery
April 4 - June 4, 2008
Work in the exhibit is inspired by artists' interpretation of what is in your backyard, the everyday, the ordinary, and the local environment.

The Hayloft Gallery is located in the upper level of our renovated barn. Its arched ceiling gives a sense of spaciousness that makes it one of the best showrooms in southwest Virginia. Climate control makes it a safe place for all media. The mission of the Hayloft Gallery is to provide an aesthetic environment to showcase the work of local and regional artists and artisans, to encourage, inspire and educate the growing artist and the public as to the value and importance of creative expression in a rural mountain culture, and to contribute to the quality and diversity of the local economy.

Artwork inspired by place. Looking at the everyday, the ordinary, and the local environment, we invite artists to offer works inspired by any interpretation of what’s “in your backyard”. All media welcome.

Watermarks: Outer Expressions of Inner Experience
June 13 - July 28
Reflections…High water mark…Turning point…Benchmark…Delineation…Tide-line…Maker’s mark…Hidden signature…Let these terms inspire the Artist. All media welcome.

New Work completed during the past year in all media by regional artists.

Be it a person, place or thing…let these mountains inspire. All media welcome.

— email the image(s) of your work
— be able to pay online through PayPal
— submit your application by downloading the Word Document, typing in the information needed, and saving completed document to attach to email.

Completed application and image(s) of work can be emailed to info@jacksonvillecenter.org with subject heading, "Gallery Application." Payment can be done via the "Make Online Payments" link in the left margin. Directions are provided on the payment page.
