“Chiaroscuro” (chi·a·ro·scu·ros)
(Italian : Light-Dark)
May 24th – July 20th
Dictionary definition: The treatment of light and shade in drawing and painting.
An effect of contrasted light and shadow created by light falling unevenly.
Chiaroscuro was developed during the Renaissance and opened the doors to a plethora of powerful art with strong contrasting light and shadows. Join the Jacksonville center in showing your talents and skills! Help define, redefine, or interpret this time honored classic. Both 2D and 3D works are welcome!
Applications are due/received no later than Monday, April 22nd.

2013 Jax Juried Exhibition
July 26th-October 5th, 2013
For the fourth year in a row, the Hayloft Gallery will host a Juried Exhibition. We are committed to hosting one Juried Exhibition a year, offering substantial cash prizes and professional and public recognition for artists.
Juror Sam Blanchard recently moved to Blacksburg from Florida. He is currently a professor of sculpture at Virginia Tech. His work can be viewed at: http://samblanchard.com/
