Pottery Studio
The Jax Pottery Studio was originally the creamery of the old barn. Renovated into a studio space in 2005, the creamery was easy to adapt to a studio given the cement floor and running water already in place. Today, the pottery studio is a highly functional space with 6 easy access pottery wheels, a good sized slab roller, and a number of large work tables. A variety of firing opportunities are also available with 3 electric, 1 gas, and 1 raku kiln. Designed and built in 2005 by a group of students taking a kiln building class with Tracey Dotson, the gas kiln holds 46 cubic feet. Spacious porches provide outdoor work space in warm weather with an inspiring view of Buffalo Mountain.
