Marie Woolum
Fiber artist Marie Woolum decided to move to Floyd during her first visit in March of 2009. It was only after moving here in June that she discovered her great-grandfather had lived in the county as a child.
Most days, Marie can be found in her studio at The Jacksonville Center, transforming reclaimed fabrics into functional art, such a blankets and bags, as well as decorative art pieces.
“I prefer to look at the fabric and see what it can potentially become rather than searching out fabric for a specific project,” Marie said.
