Fall Concerts
Although the summer sun continues to shine, fall is right around the corner and with it comes our Benefit Fall Concert Series, “Music for Autumn Evenings” scheduled for Friday, September 7th and Saturday, October 6th.
The first concert that features pianist David Stewart Wiley, Music Director & Conductor of the Roanoke Symphony Orchestra, mandolin and fiddle player Jeff Midkiff, , and soprano Adelaide Trombetta will present “Baroque, Bluegrass and Blue Jeans” and will host a contest for the best blue jeans so be creative and wear your fanciest pants!
The second concert on October 6th will feature the Kandinsky Trio, consisting of violinist Benedict Goodfriend, cellist Alan Weinstein, and pianist Elizabeth Bachelder playing chamber music. Both concerts begin at 7:30pm and take place in the community room at the center.
Two wonderful concerts await you – Attend both for a discounted price. A “Meet the Artists” Champagne and Wine Reception will follow each concert.

Jazz@Jax
In 2011 we are kicking off a spring concert event with a focus on jazz that is intended to be an annual event at the Center. This year’s concert will be held on Saturday, April 30th, and will feature Chris Prokosch and The Jazz Providers. The group will be performing a range of music from the Great American Song Book, which is a loose collection of pieces by composers such as Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, Frank Loesser, and many others. The doors open at 7pm with a reception to follow the performance.

Annual Membership Meeting and Silent Auction
The Annual Membership Meeting is Saturday, September 29th. Social hour and final hour of silent auctions is from 6-7pm. Dinner will begin at 7pm with the meeting starting as dessert is served. The 6th Annual Silent Auction Fundraiser will conclude just before we sit down for dinner and the membership meeting. At the meeting, we will have presentations and will hold elections for the center’s Board of Directors.

Halloween KidFest
Get your spook on at the Jacksonville Center for FREE! Enjoy great family fun in your costumes at Halloween Kidfest this year. There are refreshments, a costume contest, pumpkin carving and painting, storytelling, fortune-telling, treasure hunts and a haunted house. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, October 28, 1-4pm.
Winterfest
This year we will be celebrating our 18th annual Winterfest! As our longest running program, Winterfest is something you won’t want to miss. Always the First weekend in December, The Jacksonville Center will be filled with visitors enjoying art, crafts, music, kids activities and tasty treats. Stop by on Friday, Friday, November 30 from 5-8pm or Saturday, December 1, 10am-5pm to experience Winterfest at the Jax.
